Croatia: Hotel Review: Monte Mulini, Croatia.

Croatia is rapidly becoming the flavour of the month across Europe, with islands like Hvar drawing the discerning visitor and a more than few celebs in search of a more tranquil, exclusive escape from the maddening crowds of St-Tropez, Ibiza and the like. It’s not hard to see why – much more than just a magnate for sun and sand worshippers, Croatia seduces first-timers with its (as of yet)...

Croatia: An Epic Journey Awaits

I am throwing caution to the wind and following my gut; I’m about to take the least planned expedition of all time. All of my time, anyway, thus far. I’ve come to a place in life where I can’t be bothered to do what I should do, like visit parents or apply for full-time employment, and instead plan to do what I want to do. What I could do. And friends, what I want to do is take my earnings...

Artisans: Rovinj, Croatia, Captures Heart and Belly

We had the Croatia Lonely Planet Guide and chatted about which days we could get away to go see some of it, but hadn’t made definite plans. With the odd hours of departures and arrivals, it turned out that our only options were...

We wanted to wake up early but due to the previous day’s long trip, we allowed ourselves to stay longer in bed and have a thorough rest before we get on with the ride back home.  The road trip down to Croatia worn us out and we would have stayed in bed until noon but none of us would like to miss the breakfast buffet. After getting dressed, we headed to the hotel’s restaurant for breakfast. ...

Croatia: Road Trip to Croatia, Part 1

So as I was saying, the closeness of countries here is great and the possibility that I can see four countries in one day by car amazes me.  Like last week, for instance, when my husband and I decided to make a road trip down to Croatia. We took off at 9:00am after having a small breakfast in Graz (Austria). Two hours later, we were in Ljubljana (Slovenia). We had wandered around the city before our stomachs screamed lunch. After lunch, we drove for an hour to Trieste (Italy).  We strolled along the port and made a round in the inner city where we found a nice little ice cream café that serves flavorful ice creams. We had lingered there for a while before we agreed to move on.  It took us another two hours but it was still a bit bright when we reached our destination, Pula

So much is already said about Europe. People who enjoy the good things in life flock to Europe because Europe is labeled as having a deep-seated culture founded on the Europeans’ great appreciation for the finer things in life such as art, fashion, wine, good food,  and quality living. I love Europe too because of that very thing but on a shallower scale, I love Europe because of the proximity of...
