Penne Pasta with Spicy Sausage Ragu

Pasta has long been a comfort food for me. I admit, when I’m having these cravings I will sometimes browse the frozen section and cheat a little. But to be honest, cooking a nice pasta at home really doesn’t take that much more time. Best yet, this recipe can a fantastic impression with friends or a date. And, you’ll still have more for leftovers!

To start, you’ll want to use ready-made marinara sauce. Ideally this should be homemade, but if you’re on time restraints it is also okay to use something such as Barilla. Secondly, spicy Italian sausage will be used instead of ground meat. It adds an extra layer of complex flavors and enhances the sauce by kicking it up a notch.
