As many of you know, we are always looking for new wine and food events. The new Santa Barbara Urban Wine Trail was an event that was worth passing on from the LA Times, Daily Dish. The Santa Barbara Urban Wine Trail (SBUW) was formed by several local wineries who saw an opportunity to offer local favorites through a series of tasting rooms all in downtown Santa Barbara’s neighborhood known as the “Funk Zone”. They are hosting their first ‘Passport Weekend” from July 27-29, 2012 that will offer up wine tastings, reserve vintages, live music and great food. Tickets are available for $50 and includes a weekend passport and 10% off all wine purchases. Participating wineries include Aubon Climat, Cottonwood Canyon, Pali Wine and more.
Organizers have really made this event fun and easy to “hike” by having tasting rooms in one neighborhood that has public access by foot, bike and even by train to downtown Santa Barbara. When one thinks of passports, they are often associated with long lines at the airport but fear not. This passport includes a ticket with three destinations: Arrival, Tasting and Enjoyment!
